Summary

the book I am reading is called the candy bomber and it is by micheal O Tunnell. It is set in the time after world war 2. The main character of the book is a Air Force soldier whose mission is too send supply drops to the civilians of Germany. Germany is in ruins because of all the bombs that were dropped on them and now the people are in deep poverty. They rely on food coming from USA to survive. Lt. Halvorsen noticed that all of the children were very appreciative for little things and would share equally when he gave a group of the German kids two pieces of gum.
   He wanted to make the kids happy in a very tragic environment hey we're in so he decided to start shipping candy to them in his air craft. Candy and chocolate was very valuable in that country and was comparable to the price of gold. He dropped loads of candy attached to small parachutes to float down to the children of Germany and it looked as if it was raining candy from heaven. At first he was doing it without confirmation so it was illegal but his boss said everyone loved what he had down do his candy shipments were approved.

Mood 2/21/17

The book I am reading, "The Boy Who Dared", makes me feel depressed because it has a such a sad and gray tone. It take s place in nazi Germany and the main character sees many Jewish attacks and horrible things that go on during the time. The main character is also in prison and lives everyday expecting to be executed as soon as he wakes up. The story makes me feel grateful I am not in such a scary world. When I think of Germany in the book I picture always gray, cloudy skies and dull colors with dead grass. War planes flying overhead and soldiers in the mix of people and children walking outside.

The boy who dared Summary

In my book "The Boy Who Dared", by Susan Campbell bartoletti, the main character is a guy named helmuth who grew up in a time when hitler rose to power. Throughout the book, there are flashback sections to when he was a kid growing up in that time and sections in the present where helmuth is in prison for a currently unknown reason. Helmuth grow up with two half brothers named Hans and Gerhard, a single mother whom he calls mutti, who grandparents he refers to as oma and opa. His father was never present in his life and his two brothers have a different father than him but both men who have had kids with mutti  are not in the picture. Helmuth grows up with the terrible discrimination that Adolf Hitler brought towards the Jews in Germany.  He has seen nazi brutality on Jews who tried to clean graffiti that was being written on their homes and shops. Helmuth wasn't able to shop at any Jewish stores or markets because Germans were forced to not spend money at Jewish establishments and only at German shops.

Foreshadowing

in my book, "Jerk", I can foreshadow that the main character Sam Carrier eventually formally meet a mystery girl whom he is falling for. He has helping her in numerous instances, like when he gave her his coat when it was freezing outside and when he told her she was going the wrong way and bound to get lost. He desperately wants to meet her and always somehow runs into her.  Sam shows affection towards the girl. He overheard a conversation with her and her friend talking about him and how he wants to know more about him. He will eventually meet her because that's the cliche in this type of scenario in media.

exposition

in my book, "Jerk" by Jonathan Friesen, the main characters name is Sam Carrier. Sam carrier suffers from Tourette's syndrome, a disease that causes him to twitch uncontrollably. He lives in a rural area and his father is deceased. As a result of his Tourette's, Sam became a runner and joined the track and field team in his high school. He spends a lot of time laone as well. On a rainy day while Sam was on a run, he saw a girl running in the wrong direction. He followed the girl and when he caught up to her he informed her that she was going to get lost. While trying to talk to her, he fell on his face and into mud. He learned that the mystery girl went to a rival high school and wants to know more about her after this encounter. Sam has a widowed mother and an abusive stepdad. He doesn't have many friends at his high school, Mitrista.

Quarter 3 book

The book I am reading is jerk and it is by Jonathan friesen. From reading the summary in the back I am thinking it's going to be a book that tackles a lot of different topics like dealing with a disorder and having a stepfather. I can relate to this book all ready because I will soon be in high school and I have a step father. I am interested in reading this book and hope it will be good throughout the whole thing and not have boring sections.

Mutations science 3A

I learned that most mutations don't do anything and are neutral. The most interesting mutation is albino because I think it is really weird that it completely changes the way they look.  No i did not like sketch noting I prefer regular notes. I would actually do it.
