Blog 1: Science
Oh hello. I did not see you there. I am Joel Tapia, I am 14, welcome to my blog.
This year I am in 8th grade and am attending freedom middle school with eager intention. I am a hard working student and a leader. I quickly get the hang of things and am very intelligent. I am constantly praised by my peers and I guess you can say am pretty good looking as well. I am pretty funny and make a lot of people life with my comical jokes and squad of peers. I am what you may call the "class clown". I be roasting on my squad and ending careers. I am hilarious and just a pleasure. I like the blocks instead of periods in eighth grade and enjoy the teachers. I think I am doing well in biology and am confident about tests and labs.

Intro poetry reflection
A poem should have emotion, detail and rhymes. A poem should not have anything other than what it should have. No, I don't know.

About my father Jackie Robinson
Sharon Robinson wrote this article because of the anniversary marking the time when Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier on April 15. The main idea is to inform people about Jackie Robinson's career. In the article, Sharon talks about robinson's awards, the seasons he played and the challenges he faced to succeed. There were separate leagues for colored people. He had to know if Robinson was good enough. If he didn't have strength of character he would have fought back when people were being racist towards him. Jackie Robinson succeeded in destroying the color barrier because 13 seasons later there was at least one colored player on each Major League Baseball team.
42 Reflection
Driscrimination in my own words is treating people differently because of who they are or how they look. Discrimination could be against gender, race, color of your skin, appearance, religion, and sexual orientation.
I don't recall a time where I was discriminated

When is their dignity in silence?
There is dignity in silence when someone accuses you of doing something that you did not do. Normally if someone yells at you and claims you did a certain thing that you know for a fact you did not do you would yell back and increase the angry tone of the mood. It takes a big person to calmly reply to an angry accusation. It's satisfying proving them wrong and being calm about it. It is even more satisfying when a stubborn person accuses you of something because they won't give up even when you present clear facts and evidence against their claim. They will still try to be right even after you've proven them wrong.

Blog 16: Workshop (Reading/Writing)
The Beast By: Walter Dean Myers
I haven't got that far in the book but it is about a kid going to school away from his family and girlfriend.
I need to read a little bit more to determine my opinion.

Blog 15
The world is the best part. Their own words that have different meanings from what they do in our world. I like how they call children by their age so if they are eight years old they are referred to as eights if they are in a group and an eight alone. I also like the whole concept of release. In reality it is murder but no one understands what killing is so they unknowingly kill people and the community is none the wiser.
In Lockdown, the best part was seeing the main character, Reese, grow as a character. Reese is a smart person but has just made stupid choices. In the beginning of the book, he was just staying out of trouble but didn't have a strong relationship with anyone in progress. Towards the end he had became friends with an old man at a hospital he worked at and with officers at progress. He doesn't know it but that is a big advantage. I can also relate to him.
I think the part where Jonas was angry because he saw what release meant was annoying and out of character for Jonas. He was kind of mocking the giver's assistant in a way I perceived as annoying and childish for such a mature and intelligent character.
The only thing that annoys me about lockdown is this one character named toon. He is so irritating. He is weak and always getting beat up but Reese tries to save him. I don't like how him and Reese are friends. He even tried to kill himself once because he was depressed and personally I can't stand depressed people. They ruin good moods and are not fun to be around. He really just gets on my nerves because he can't even thank Reese or help him when he gets in trouble. And he gets out of progress before Reese's closer friend, Play, so he hangs out with Reese after they got out. Plus he tries to hard to be Reese's friend. I dislike toon.

Blog 12: Fame
I would rather be unknown and then rembered for something great after I've died than fade into obscurity. After I've died, people will remember me longer than when I was alive.

Blog 11: Leh guh see
I want to be known as the guy who story boarded a series of comic books and then had his own animated series which was critically acclaimed and popular, but only was on air for five years before ending it. Then I would retire with my millions upon millions of dollars and donate to charities and even create my own Mobile game based on the series and make even more money because I would make the game about waiting and then have coins you can buy with real money to eliminate waiting.

Blog 10: Understanding
It would change our opinion of his community into Jonas' opinion. He has seen things that no one else knows about. Ignorance is bliss, practically no one in his community has felt the pain Jonas has felt. They don't know that the higher ups of the community are hiding secrets. Jonas does so that makes him distrust them.

Imagine John Lennon
Explain the meaning of the song. The meaning is to imagine life as we know it differently.
How does it relate to the giver? It relates to the giver because in the giver Jonas lives in a world were there is no religion and no countries.

Blog Seven: Jonas's POV Change
He is developing a change in his point of view because of the giver. He is showing Jonas all of these memories so he is questioning why his community doesn't have the things in his memory like snow and the sun.

Blog Six: New Chapter Title
Chapter 2: Private Conversation
This is an appropriate name for the title because the whole chapter is a private conversation between Jonas and his parents.

How is Jonas's world alike and different from ours?
Jonas's world has a lot of rules and rituals and other stuff like that, his society is actually pretty confusing to me. There are very strict rules that seem obsured to me. Like not bring abbot to ride your bike until a certain age or having a "comfort object" (which is a stuffed animal given to children at the age of one)taken away when your are 8. We are also similar because each

Blog Four: Unity Through Conformity
When people are force to be the same they have to find unity. Like in the times of slavery, the slaves were treated differently because they were black. Because they were all treated differently than the white peopl, they were all treated the same amongst eachother. The were all slaves, all African American and were given the same treatment. They were the same. They had no one to rely on but themselves. They were forced to bond and care for one another because no one else would. The only thing the slaves had was eachother.

If we didn't have knowledge of historical events then we would make the same mistakes as our ancestors did. We wouldn't really know anything about living or how to do certain things. If we didn't have any knowledge or any thing written down, each generation would have to start fresh and learn how to live only to die with that information. If we didn't know about the civil war then we might repeat the same thing over again.

Career Choices
Pros: You don't have to make such a big and hard decision yourself. What if you pick the wrong job? You're twelve years old so you most likely won't make such a wise choice yourself.
Cons: Your future life is in the hands of people you don't know. What if they pick the wrong job for you?!What if you hate your job? You could be good at something but not enjoy it. There is a possibility that you will get bored with you career and would want to persue a new one.
